History of The Randolph Writers
Founded 15 years ago, Randolph Writers, was originally a part of the Randolph Arts Guild, and is still supported by the RAG and the Randolph County Public Library. Since its inception, there have been four presidents; Phil Shore (founder of RW, 2001-2006), Robin Emerson (2006-2013), Sayword Eller (2013-2021) and Micki Bare (2022-present). In her time as President, Robin Emerson developed the annual writing contest as well as the Writers in Randolph for established writers. The mission of the Randolph Writers is to be a beacon for writers in Randolph county, providing warmth, camaraderie, encouragement, and constructive criticism to all who join, whether they be beginners or veterans of words. Meetings are held every third Tuesday at the Asheboro Public Library (currently we're meeting virtually), and all are welcome. You can check out our "meetings" section to learn how to become a member.
